Disclaimer pertaining to "Leveled and Installed" Optics
While these optics come from the factory mounted and leveled, final zeroing and leveling to the receiver may still be necessary. The rings may or may not be fully torqued, and no Loctite has been applied to the screws. Leveling can shift during shipping or handling. Users should ensure the scope is properly mounted and leveled before use. Final zeroing is the responsibility of the shooter. Variations in ammunition, environmental conditions, and individual shooting posture may affect point of impact. After your first range session, check that all mounting hardware is secure.
INFORMATION QUESTIONS
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q1: What is the KLGRID reticle, and what is its core design philosophy?
The KLGRID reticle is a MIL-based Christmas tree reticle designed for precise holdovers and corrections with minimal turret adjustments. It features a 10 MIL holdover grid with 0.5 MIL subtensions, providing clear references for accurate elevation and wind corrections various engagement distances.
Q2: What is the biggest difference between KLGRID and KLBOX, and who is each reticle for?
The biggest difference is how each reticle approaches target engagement. KLBOX uses a streamlined BDC layout for fast, intuitive holdovers, while KLGRID uses a MIL-based Christmas tree design for precise elevation and wind corrections without frequent turret adjustments.
- KLBOX: Ideal for shooters who prefer a simple, BDC-style reticle for fast, practical shooting.
- KLGRID: Ideal for 3-Gun competition, tactical carbines, and multi-distance shooting where precise holdovers and wind corrections matter.
Q3: How does the EP-8 perform at 1x for visual clarity and target acquisition speed?
The EP-8 1-8x28 FFP LPVO delivers a true 1x experience with a wide field of view (121.15 ft at 100 yards), a forgiving eyebox, and a stable sight picture. The Thin Edge optical design and Horseshoe + Center Dot reticle work together to help shooters acquire and track targets quickly with both eyes open, especially in close-range and dynamic shooting.
Q4: Why does the EP-8 use capped turrets?
The EP-8 uses capped turrets because most elevation and wind corrections can be made through the KLGRID reticle instead of dialing. They also help prevent accidental turret adjustments during fast-paced movement, helping maintain your zero.
Q5: What size are the Horseshoe and Center Dot, and will they block small targets at distance?
No, they won't. The illuminated horseshoe is 0.2 MIL thick on the KLGRID reticle and 0.4 MIL thick on the KLBOX reticle, providing fast target acquisition at lower magnification. The center dot (0.2 MIL for the KLGRID and 0.69 MOA for the KLBOX) remains small for a precise aiming point, ensuring minimal target obstruction even at higher magnification.
